New Owner Joy Smith with

Daughter and Manager Tiffany Tadlock

Dear Friends,

Some of you we know ; others we hope to get to know. Running a restaurant is the most time consuming job in the world . As this is the situation, we don’t get to come to a lot of the functions the Chamber of Commerce has . It is not because we don’t care for you and places of business, however,  we just cannot spare the time. It takes the two of us putting in 80 hours each to run this place.  The Little Kitchen has been in business since 1969.  Years ago we were the only kid on the block; the place to Eat. As you no that is not the situation anymore. There is a chain restaurant on every corner.

Not to say that there is anything wrong with growth, but I just don’t have the funds to advertise that are in their possession.  I would like to give you a little background on myself . Many years ago I started at the Herford Barn in Charlotte.  At the time of my hiring I was not old enough to sell wine and beer. Boy what it would be to go back to those days.  After that  I managed a Golden Corral for a few years; administrating the day to day functions of the place. Then came Slug’s Rib; and to this day I miss that place. Those were the days, when dining was a true Art. When Slug’s closed I came back to my hometown. Then I went to work at the Little Kitchen.  This was in 1998; and I have been here ever since!

My grandson and Tiffany’s son Bradley has been in this restaurant since he was a baby. My Granddaughter Brooklynn was born one Month before I bought the restaurant and she can also be found running around now trying to boss both of us.  It had always been my and Tiffany’s dream to own our own restaurant . The original owner, Mike Atwell, and a lot of hard work and money made it happen. In 2005 I purchased “The Little Kitchen”. So this is to those who have supported me thank you so much.  All the years we have waited on you must show how much we care. Also I would like to invite those that are new to the area to come try the Little Kitchen , “The Prime Rib that is The Best In Town!”  I say this with pride as I have been taught by the best. We try to make every day at the Little Kitchen a true dining experience and we hope to see you soon.

Thank you,
